PRESSURIZATION Flashcards
What cabin altitude will the system maintain?
6000 ft
How many outflow valves and what are they called?
2
Cabin vent valve
Baggage vent valve
Do the outflow valves have independent controllers?
Yes. Dual channel with only one channel active at any given time
Which outflow valve is considered the master valve?
Cabin vent valve
What is the function of the nose cone fan?
On the ground, the nose cone fan provides ventilation of the nose cone.
Which are the pressurized areas in the airplane?
Nose cone
Main cabin
Underfloor
Baggage area
Can the baggage area be isolated from the main cabin in case of fire or depressurization?
Yes
How many baggage isolation valves are there?
2
At what cabin altitude does the cabin vent valve command the baggage isolation valves to close?
14200 ft
What happens to the cabin air jet pump when the baggage area is isolated?
When the baggage compartment is isolated, the “cabin air jet pump” located downstream
of the BAG Vent Valve is not fed anymore. The cooling of the main pack heat exchangers
is left to the ACM (less effective at high altitude)
How is the underfloor area ventilated in the air?
In flight, through the dedicated underfloor evacuation duct.
How is the underfloor area ventilated on the ground?
On the ground and in low-altitude flight, through a dedicated duct to the ambient air
and through the CAB Vent Valve
How many independent channels does the cabin vent valve have?
2
Each channel of the cabin vent valve is connected to its associated DC motor. True or false?
True.
The two motor inputs are transmitted through a planetary differential gear system to the output shaft and the butterfly plate.
If one channel of the cabin vent valve controller fails what happens?
It automatically switches to the next one.
