Q

how do you measure the density of an irregular object?

A

1) determine the mass of the object by using a balance
2) liquid is added to fill a measuring cylinder so the object would be fully submerged
3) the volume of the initial liquid (V1) is measured.
4) the object is lowered into the cylinder (being careful not to splash) and the new reading (V2) is measured.
6) the volume of the object is V2 - V1
7) the density can now be calculated.
