Q

how do we use fossil fuels in a power station?

A

the heat energy released from the fuel is jsed to heat water which releases steam which turns a turbine, this turbine uses kinetic energy to turn the generator which then converts the kinetic energy into electrical energy.

Q

facts

A

the sun is the source of all our energy except for geothermal, nuclear and tidal. both the sun and moon have a tidal effect on the earth, but the main source of tidal energy is the moon.

the sun itself is powered by nuclear fusion reactions (where the small nuclei of hydrogen atoms join to make larger nuclei that are helium)
