-Basal bone

-You won’t get a good seal

-You have force still applied in the bone

-Trim with rongier
What are some challenges when removing palatal tori?
- Expose the nasal sinuses
- Leave exposed bone because the mucosa is so thin
When removing excess soft tissue how should you make the suture?
-In a wedge shaped fashion (undermine)
When you remove an epulis fissuratum what can occur with the vestibule?
-It can become smaller because you have removed some of the soft tissue
How can you keep a removal of an epulis fissuratum from making the vestibule smaller?
-Leave the periosteum on and suture to the periostium
