spontaneous rupture of the amniotic sac and leakage of amniotic fluid beginning before the onset of labour at any gestational age

after the patient reports either a sudden gush of fluid or a slow leak of fluid from the vagina

Chorioamnionitis (bacterial infection of the amniotic cavity)
