APGAR
is a numerical system used to
assess the condition of a neonate
Postpartum bleeding
Postpartum bleeding frequently occurs
within the first few hours after delivery, but it can
be delayed for up to 24 hours after delivery.
Prolapse cord
A prolapsed cord occurs when a loop of the
umbilical cord protrudes from the vagina while the baby is still in the birth canal
Breech birth
Most babies are born headfirst. However, on rare
occasions, the baby is delivered feet- or buttocks-
first. This is commonly referred to as breech birth
What to do during a breech birth
position your index and middle fingers to allow air to enter the baby’s mouth and nose.
Limb presentation
Limb presentation prevents the possibility of a
normal birth and could be fatal.
