Precipitation Titrations Flashcards
1
Q
Mohr’s method
A
Used for detecting conc of halides. Uses AgNO3 as titrant and chromate as indicator. Constant mL of indicator. pH between 6-9 to not form compounds. Blank titration requires
2
Q
Volhard’s method
A
Back titration of acidic solution. A known excess of AgNO3 is added to ppte all titrand. KSCN is used as titrant. Fe3+ is the indicator to produce red FeSCN at end point.
