Fuel carried for the foreseeable things we can plan for:
- Weather (to go around or divert)
- Traffic (high traffic, holds)
- Extra Taxiiing (large airports, holding short, waiting, etc)
- Unfamiliar with area
- Flying around a body of water when no floatation devices are carried
- Etc

Fuel things to remember for the exam…

A
  • If given, add Contigency Fuel to the total fuel
  • Required fuel on any exam will include: Climb, Cruise, and Reserve
  • If given, include taxi fuel in the Required Fuel
  • Used Fuel is what is burned off during the flight or a portion of the flight: Taxi, climb, cruise tend to be what the exam will ask you to calculate
