1) Flight Information Centre (FIC)
2) Flight Service Station (FSS)
3) Telephone it in
4) In person (dunno how that would work)
5) Nav Canada Website
6) Via the radio on the published Flight Information Service En Route (FISE) frequency
How far in advance, and how soon before you go, can you file a flight plan?
You can file a flight plan up to 24hrs before you go but no less than 30 minutes before you leave
Who can you file a flight itenarary with?
FIC/FSS or a responsible person
An aircraft is considered overdue and SAR will commence when…
Flight Plan - The process starts five min after your arrival time (they call your arrival airport, call you, etc). Then it’s with wheels up one hour after your ETA
Flight Itinerary - 24 hours of the ETA OR if you put a specific SAR time
What are the Wake Turbulence Catergories and their weights?
Light - 7000lbs or less
Medium - 7001 lbs up to 300 000lbs
Heavy - 300, 000lbs or more
