What is a crossfire?
Crossfire is in team roping when the healer throws the heel loop, it cannot come in contact with the steers legs before the header has control of the steer’s head and the steer’s hips have changed direction.
It is a no time if a crossfire occurs.
This can also be when your horse is in two different leads. One lead in the front and one in back.

A re-ride applies to all Roughstock events. A judge may offer a clean slate chance on a different horse or bull if a Cowboys score is affected by the stock contractors equipment failure or a horse or bull underperformed.

The top 10 permit holders in their respective events hosted by the heart O’ Texas committee during the heart O’ Texas fair and rodeo in Waco, Texas Competed for $100,000 in eight events. The six standard events and the 2 WPRA events barrel racing and breakaway roping.
The top five permit holders advance to the permit of the year challenge, for a purse of $21,000 on December 1 at the Southpoint hotel and casino during Benny Binion‘s bucking horse and bull sale.

What is the Linderman award?
The Linderman Award is named after ProRodeo Hall of Fame cowboy, Bill Linderman . The award recognizes cowboys who perform at both ends of the arena. A cowboy must compete in at least three events, one being a timed event and the other being a rough stock event. You also must win at least $1000 in each of the three events.

Slack can be when your rope is not tight, when a calf roper has to put slack in his rope for the 6 second timer to begin or when a contestant competes at a rodeo, but not during the actual performance.

What is the score line?
In timed a Events, the stock is given a predetermined Head start. The amount of the Head start depends on the arena length. Once the steer or calf reaches the score line the barrier will release. If the calf or steer doesn’t get the head start it will result in a broken barrier and is a 10 second penalty.
There are 7PRCA events. Most rodeos only have six events. What event is often not held and why
Steer roping is not held at all rodeos due to arenas not being big enough.

How many years can you have a PRCA permit?
You can have a permit for the maximum of two years if you have won $1000 each year, unless you are a full-time college student then the maximum is 5 years.
You can continue to renew your permit each year if you have won less than $1000.
