Define Adenoid.
Also referred to as the Pharyngeal Tonsil, the Adenoid is a mass of enlarged lymphatic tissue located in the nasopharynx just behind the internal nares.
Define Hilum.
Physical area on the surface of the lung where the pleura reflects to allow the pulmonary arteries, veins, and secondary bronchi to enter/exit the lung.
Define Meatus.
An opening or passage into the body. The nasal meatuses are openings that allow drainage from the sinuses into the nasal cavity.
Define True Vocal Fold.
Mucosal lining which folds over and contains the true vocal ligaments.
Define False Vocal Fold.
Mucosal folds that are directly superior to the true vocal folds and serve to protect the true vocal ligaments.
