- PBE must be worn
- dont allow metal part of to touch live wires
- if fighting fluids fires avoid getting too close

operations PBE

opening container;
- remobe case from stowagr position
- lift latch marked lift at the top edge of the case
- remove bagged unit
- rasp red strip and tear the bag open
- remove PBE from bag
- hold the pbe by the open end of the hood
- ensure makeup is wiped, lean fowards and grasp the neck swap with thumbs
- insert chin into hold and pull hood across face and overhead
- stand uptight, pull hood down until the headband fully engages forehead. remove all hair, make sure neck seal is firm
- pull the skirt down against chest and shoulders

- remove objects from around head
- dont damage neck seal e.g. careful with glasses
- long hair positioned above neck seal inside hood
- dont expose devie to direct flame contact
- dont remove in the immediate presense of fire or flame once done
- dont use water to cool it down

A
- carry megaphone by the nec strap and attach it over the shooulder and across body
- hold megaphone with one hand
- press trigger button
- speak into megaphone

megaphone precautions
A
- push down the slide and collect it at the bottom
- strap should be used only for carryuing thre megaphone once clear of slide

oxygen (single/dual) pre-flight check

- present
- secure in stowage beacket
- pressure gauge reads a minimum of 1500 psi
- mask attached to flow outlet
- mask attached to hi-flow (lo-flow has red dot)

duration of oxygen
A
lo flow - 120 minutes (2 lires per min)
hi flow - 60 minutes (4 litres per min)
