PowerMax and VMAX All Flash Solutions Design (Disaster Recovery Operations) Flashcards
What is the Failover operation for DR?
makes a copy of the data on R2 devices available to the hosts accessing these devices on the target array
R1 devices are set to write disabled so they should be unmounted before failover
What is the Update operation for DR?
begins transfer of accumulated invalid tracks from the R2s to the R1s while production work continues on the R2s
What is the Failback operation for DR?
resumes operations back to primary host accessing source devices
What is the Establish operation for SRDF support?
resumes normal SRDF mirroring
What is the Suspend operation for SRDF support?
suspends IO traffic on the SRDF links for the specific remotely mirrored SRDF pairs in the group or device file
What is the Resume operation for SRDF support?
resumes IO traffic on the SRDF links
What is the Split operation for SRDF support?
suspends the link between the R1 and R2 pairs
read/write enables the R2 device for target host access
What is the Restore operation for SRDF support?
resumes normal SRDF mirroring
What is the Swap operation for SRDF support?
operation swaps the personality of both halves in an SRDF relationship
R1 becomes R2 and R2 becomes R1
What is a concurrent SRDF device?
an SRDF device w/ two SRDF mirrors
each of the two concurrent mirrors must belong to different SRDF Groups
