Power Plant Flashcards
What does a FAULT light on the engine start P/B indicate?
Starter remains engaged with NH >45%; or
GCU failure during start; or
Starter failure; or
ENG 2 only - ENG START selector on start position and PROP BRK ON and gust lock not engaged.
During takeoff, at what point will the idle gate prevent PL movement below FI?
When both main landing gear absorbers are released.
During landing, when will the idle gate retract to allow PL movement to GI?
As soon as one main landing gear absorber is compressed.
What accessories are fitted to the reduction gearbox?
ACW generator Propeller valve module Propeller pump and overspeed governor Auxiliary feathering pump Propeller brake (RH engine)
What does an amber SGL CH message next to the NP gauge indicate?
Failure of a single channel of the PEC. The back up channel will take over automatically.
What is the ITT engine start limit when starting in hotel mode?
715C
What conditions must be met to get the green ready light for engagement or disengagement of the prop brake?
Aircraft on ground Gust lock engaged CL on FTH or FUEL S/O Blue hyd press available on prop brake input >2100psi Fire handle not pulled
What are the arming conditions for ATPCS for takeoff?
Aircraft on ground PWR MGT TO ATPCS P/B ON Both PL >49deg Both TQ >46%
What are the ATPCS arming conditions for the go around case?
Aircraft in flight PWR MGT TO ATPCS P/B ON Both PL >49deg Both TQ >46%
What is the trigger for activation of ATPCS?
One TQ <18%
What happens when ATPCS is triggered for the takeoff case?
Uptrim is triggered and the bleed valve is shutoff on the remaining engine; and
After 2.15 seconds auto-feather is activated on the affected engine.
What happens when ATPCS is triggered when airborne?
After 2.15 seconds auto-feather is activated on the affected engine.
Why is there a 2.15 second delay for auto-feather when ATPCS is triggered?
In the rejected takeoff case retarding the PL within 2.15 seconds will disarm ATPCS in order to benefit from some reversing action (drag) on the failed engine.
