“TERRAIN/OBSTACLE AHEAD”

A

Verify aircraft flight path and correct if required (Day VMC)

At night, in IMC or in doubt carry out the EGPWS Warning Procedure.

EGPWS WARNING

“TERRAIN/OBSTACLE AHEAD, PULL UP”

A

PF

  • “TERRAIN ESCAPE, FLAP 15, CHECK POWER”
  • GA Button, PL RAMP, AP Disconnect, Wings Level, 10 NU
  • If necessary PL WALL, Increase pitch up to limit of Stick Shaker
  • “Gear up” after “Positive rate” call
  • Accelerate and when appropriate call “Power Levers in the Notch Climb Procedure”

PM

  • Select Flap 15, check GA Power (RAMP) and Attitude
  • “Power checked”
  • Monitor RADALT for sustained or increasing terrain separation
  • “Positive rate”

WINDSHEAR DURING TAKEOFF

BEFORE V1

IF TAKEOFF IS CONTINUED

A

Before V1 (WINDSHEAR recognised by unacceptable airspeed variations or airspeed stagnation) REJECT the takeoff

If the takeoff is continued:
PL RAMP, at VR rotate towards 10 NU or Stick Shaker Limit (which ever is lower) and perform WINDSHEAR ESCAPE once airborne

WINDSHEAR ESCAPE

A

PF

  • “WINDSHEAR ESCAPE, CHECK POWER”
  • GA Button, PL RAMP, AP Disconnect, Wings Level, 10 NU
  • If necessary, PL WALL, increase pitch up to limit of Stick Shaker
  • “Gear up” after “Positive Rate” call
  • Accelerate and when appropriate call “Power Levers in the Notch Climb Procedure”

PM

  • Check power (RAMP) and Attitude
  • “Power checked”
  • Monitor RADALT and call out information on flight path
  • Clear or Windshear and positive ROC for more than 5 secs call “Positive Rate”
