Flight Controls Flashcards
Aileron trim is normally inhibited during autopilot operation. When is is not inhibited?
RETRIM ROLL R(L) WING DOWN or AILERON MISTRIM messages authorise retrim on the indicated side. The other side is still inhibited.
Spoiler cyan triangle indicates:
Associated spoiler not in the retracted position.
What is the purpose of the Travel Limitation Unit (TLU)?
At what speed does it automatically engage?
At what speed does it disengage?
Limit pedal travel in order to prevent any damaging rudder travel at high speed?
185kts
180kts
What is the purpose of the gust lock?
Mechanically locks and protects pitch and roll flight controls against wind gusts.
Limits PL movement to slightly below FI (prevents a power setting too high for operation in hotel mode).
What protects the rudder from wind gusts while on ground?
A hydraulic damper
What does a FLAP ASYM message indicate?
Once detected by the MFC what will happen?
Fall asymmetry of 6.7 deg.
The electrical supply to the flaps control system is isolated and:
The flaps stay. In their present position
The control lever has no effect.
When does the flap indicator turn green?
When the difference between flap command (lever) and position is <1 deg.
(Indication is white at flaps 0)
What does it mean if the flap indication remains cyan once they have reached the commanded position?
A hydraulic leak in the flap valve block.
What does a red flap indication mean?
FLAP UNLK. A spurious flap retraction of more than 4 deg.
