Question 1

While the fire is being fought - the person in charge of FENZ at a fire is charged with direction of operations. What are the powers under Section 28?

Answer 1

• Enter private property when its on fire or endangered
• Close roads
• Remove impeding vehicles (break in if necessary)
• Remove people in danger or interfering (reasonable force)
• Do anything reasonable to protect life or property

*POLICE - may use these powers if called upon by person in charge (FENZ), no right to exercise by simply being present at the fire.
