Q

How is mRNA modified?

A

mRNA is made 5’ to 3’ so phosphorylation of 5’ is forward

P removed and base pairs methylated

Q

Describe the process of Poly A adding

A

At C Terminus of RNA pol, proteins on end of tail leave and cleave at AAUAAA and then recruits Poly A POL which extends tail.

Q

How are snRNPs sliced?

A

Happens in a 2 step transesterification. Exposed OH attaches to same intron loop causing it to break off.
