Forward Leaning with arm support
A
Useful with pts with lung disease
Optimizes length-tension relationship of the diaphragm, allows pec minor and major to assist with rib cage elevation
Often combined with other breathing techniques

Reverse Trendelenburg
A
Pt is in supine with head above their trunk and LEs
Decreased the weight of abdominal contents on the diaphragm

Semi-Fowler’s Position
A
HOB elevated to 45 degrees, pillow under knees
Often used for pt’s with CHF/other cardiac conditions
