What items are kept within the Daily Operational Report form?
Daily records of measurements of pH, turbidity, time of day the chlorine or bromine residual was taken in both the deep and shallow ends, flowrate, and when the filter was backwashed.
How long are the ring buoys ropes required to be?
The widest width of the pool or 50 ft. Whichever is less.
How many feet must an emergency phone be from the pool?
Within 300 ft.
What items are required to be kept very near the pool?
- A lifegaurd chair or station with unobstructed view of pool. 2. Emergency phone within 300 ft. 3. A first aid kit with contents matching Attachment 3. 4. Ring Buoy with rope as wide as widest part of pool or 50 ft (whichever is less). 5. Shepherd’s Crook at least 12 feet in length, per 2,000 ft of water surface area.
What is the required height of the barrier b/n wading pool areas and sand areas from the pool deck?
3.5 ft.
What must be placed at the transition point from shallow to deep ends for safety?
A rope must be secured with recessed anchors located a minimum of one foot towards the shallow end. Transition points must be marked with a four inch wide stripe on the floor that contrasts to the floor color.
If there is no transition point in the pool, where must the safety rope be?
Where the water depth reaches five feet.
Where should depth markers be located?
On the swimming pool deck and on the swimming pool walls around the perimeter of the pool. Must be located at the shallow, deep ends, transition point, and max depth point.
What is the spacing for depth markers?
No more than 25 ft. intervals.
Where should “No Diving” signs be posted?
At least 4” high and be located no more than 25 ft. intervals around the pool perimeter.
What must be done to stairs and ledges to indicate their presence?
Painted a darker color than the bottom of the pool.
What conditions require lifeguards being present?
Pools with swimmers under 16 years old without supervision by a parent, guardian, or other responsible person at least 16 years old.
