Hitler did not anticipate that the Bavarian Army and the Police would side with the government.

5 years sentence (in the end, he only served 9 months) - he should have been executed.
Why did Hitler get off lightly for his actions in the Putsch?
Hitler had great speaking skills, as well as the judges supported his ideas.
