-Plebeians ( commoners) could rise to power - Flaminius created Populist politics- politics for the common people (basic desires)
- Optimates which were senitorial elite wanted to maintain traditional politics but Populares like Flaminius challenged this
- 232 BCE= passing of a law to distribute ager Gallicus (Gallic land), Overthrowing the senate
