What are the origins of Urban policy mobilities scholarship?
Emerged in poli-sci but has since become an interdisciplinary approach
The idea is that urban policies transform as they circulate, urban scholars want to understand how it is assembled and who the main actors are in circulation

How and why urban ideas and policies circulate
Investigate the flow between cities and the contexts in which urban policies are communicated
What ways can urban policy be circulated?
Non-human actors: plans, models, texts, cities themselves, conferences
Human actors: gov, officials on trips, property developers, consultants, charismatic individuals, architecture and planning firms, conferences, elite meetings of people
Explain Malaysia as an urban model
Malaysia’s powerful imaging strategies meant they became a model for emulation for other countries in the global south
ex) Kuala Lumpur City Centre ( Petronas towers)
ex) Cyberjaya as a ‘silicon valley’
