Why did Poaching increase in the periods 1700-1900?
A
increased compared to Early Modern England.-After 1700, poaching continued to be a widespread social crime and there was an increase in poaching gangs. In 1723-Black Act passed which made poaching a capital crime. Repealed (abolished) in 1823- with poachers no longer getting the death penalty.
