- Sputum culture (if bac)
- Throat swab (if bac)
- Viral PCR (if viral)
What investigations should you for patients with Sepsis? (2 things)
- Blood culture
- ABG (to monitor resp / met acidosis + lactate)
What are the Mx options for Pneumonia? (2 things)
- Abx (according to local guidelines)
- Oxygen (PRN, to keep sats 92+)
What Abx is usually FIRST line for Pneumonia?
Amoxicillin
What should you add to Amoxicillin to cover ATYPICAL pneumonias?
Macrolides
