PN839 Incidents involving solar panels Flashcards

1
Q

What is it essential to obtain on arrival at large commercial, industrial solar farms?

A

Q

If the mains fuse has been removed, will the power to the building is still be energised?

A

Yes
Failure to isolate the direct current inverter, may mean that the power to the building is still energised even when the Mains fuse has been removed by
the authorised person.

Q

Why is appliances siting important?

A

Appliances should be sited to ensure there is room for aerial appliances in case external access to
roof is required and to avoid the risk from falling materials.

Q

How do solar panels work?

A

1 Sunlight hits the solar panel which excites electrons in the panel creating a direct current
2 This direct current(DC ) flows into an inverter box which converts it into an AC current.
3 This is fed into the premises consumer unit for use around the house.
4 Any surplus energy is fed into battery banks for storage or back into the National Grid.
