Increased basal melanocytes with downgrowth at DEJ
What is the difference between ephilides and lentigoes
Usually darker and alrger
What are some differences between congenital and acquired naevi
Congenital are larger and slightly raised
They become more rugose and elevated as child grows older
Increased risk of melanoma in large naevi
Where do nodular melanomas commonly appear
Any body site
Describe the appearance f nodular melanoma
Blue-black or red skin coloured nodule which may be ulcerated or bleeding and has usually developed rapidly over preceding months
Describe what Lentigo maligna melanoma is
Invasive melanoma developing within a lentigo maligna
Who is most likely to develop Acral lentiginous melanoma and where on the patient would they appear?
Elderly patients - also Asian and African people
Usually affects the palms or soles or nails

Absent or minimal visible pigment
Describe the appearance of Seborrheic keratoses
Brown/ black greasy lesions often on the trunk and usually mltiple.
They appear stuck on and warty but may be flat. They have a regular border

Reassurance
