- N.Gonorrhoea
- Chlamydia
- Gardneralla
- Anaerobes

Symptoms
A
- Pelvic/abdo pain
- Vaginal discharge/ bleeding
- Deep dyspareunia
- Fever
- Cervical motion tenderness

Coil in situ + PID
A
- Remove coil - better short term outcomes
- Ensure pt has alternative contraception

Diagnosis of PID
A
- Positive vaginal swabs- helps diagnosis, neg swab does not mean no PID
- High CRP/WCC

Other DDX
A
- Ectopic preg
- Acute appendicitis
- Endometriosis
- UTI

Mx of PID
A
- Broad spectrum abx:
Ceftriaxone 2g IM, Oral doxy and metro for 14/7
IV if septic/ unwell
Surgery if:
- No response to anx
- Large TOA

A
- Rv at 72h
- Consider IV or surgery if not improving
- Test of cure for chlamydia if +

Complications
A
- Sepsis
- TOA
- Secondary infertility
- Chronic pelvic pain
- Ectopic in future

Contact tracing
A
- Offer all sexual contacts screening for STIs
- Offer partners stat azithromycin 1g
- Add Cef if Gonorrhoea +
