Physical Science Flashcards
Conduction
Heat transfer through when 2 objects touch.
Convection
Heat transfer through gases or liquids.
Radiation
Heat transfer through heat generating from a light bulb.
Physical Property
Something you can observe with your 5 senses, something that can’t change the chemical makeup.
Physical Change
A change in matter in which the type of matter stays the same. During a physical change, only the physical properties of matter change.
Chemical Property
This is something that can be observed by looking at the chemical build of an object.
Chemical Change
This is when something happens to an object and a completely new substance with a different makeup is formed.
Speed
Speed is how fast an object is moving.
Friction
Friction is when 2 surfaces rub together causing something to slow down.
Newton’s First Law
Newton’s first law states that an object in motion will stay in motion and an object at rest will stay at rest.
Newton’s second law
Newton’s second law states that Distance directly correspond to mass and amount of force.
Newton’s third law
Newton’s third law states that very action has an equal and opposite reaction.
