Testicular Torsion
A
Surgical emergency!
- ground pain; the testicle has wrapped itself around the vas deferens
- scrotum: red, warm, swollen
- nausea, vomiting
- they have to go in and surgically unwind the testical and then sew it into the scrotal sac
- can lose testicle if blood circulation is gone too long

Epidydimitis
A
Inflammatory reaction of epididymus in testicle
Causes: STIs, chemical irritant (soap), local trauma (can cause blue ejaculate b/c the RBCs are met with the sugars in the testicle
Treatment:
- antibiotics for STIs
- scrotal support/pillow
- pain meds

Continues to lower for all populations
Contraception: the less you know someone, less likely you are to use contraception
-as the duration of the relationship increases, the use of contraception increases, they don’t want to have a baby with that person.
Mother-infant relationship with thrive:
- if reaches educational level of 10th grade or more
- relationship with father (but usually rocky)
- monetary access (but daycare is expensive)
- need family support
- if she gains successful child rearing skills
- developmental delay of infant if mom is always on cellphone and dependent on cognitive stimulation of infant
Father-Infant Relationship
- most have some level of interaction with child
- has positive effect on mothers self esteem
- decrease in mothers stress
- if maternal grandmother encourages father involvement, relationship will thrive
