Describe the revised Ballard System of assessment of the newborn

A

The physical assessment assesses skin, lanugo, plantar surface, breast, eye/ear, and genitals, with a higher score correlating to a higher gestational age

The neurological assessment assesses posture, square window, arm recoil, popliteal angle, scarf sign, and heel to ear, with a higher score correlating to higher gestational age
