Photosynthesis Flashcards
What is the role of photosynthesis in the carbon cycle?
Plants absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and form it into sugar, starch and other organic compounds.
What is photosynthesis?
The process of making soluable foods from carbon dioxide and water.
How do plant leaves get the water they need for photosynthesis?
The water needed for photosynthesis is absorbed through the roots and transported through tubes to the leaf.
Describe how leaves are adapted to maximise photosynthesis
The stomata allows carbon dioxide into the leaf and oxygen out. Some of this water evaporates, and the water vapour can then escape from inside the leaf.
Describe what photosynthesis is and where in the cell it occurs.
Photosynthesis is the sunlight reflects on to plants to gain nutrients and vitamins which is healthy for the plant.
