Q

What are the products of light dependent stage?

A

ATP, O2, hydrogen

Light dependent reaction splits the water molecules into oxygen and hydrogen. Oxygen is released as a by-product while hydrogen ‘goes to the’ light independent stage.

Q

What are the products of light independent stage?

A

Carbohydrates (namely glucose) is produced when CO2 reacts with hydrogen extracted in light dependent reaction.

Q

Function of stroma in photosynthesis?

A

Liquid stroma is transparent therefore does not block light. Captures CO2 which is used in light independent reaction.
