it is a sacrament, which means it is a covenant with god. it also allows for the bringing forth of children which allows evangelisation and education of the faith.
why are civil marriages important in society?
because it can be a public declaration of love between two people and allows them to be married legally.
what are the catholic churches views on same sex marriage?
the catholic church does not permit the marriage of same sex couples however some christian churches can grant permission. however, it has been legal in britain since 2014 for same sex marriages to form civil partnerships.

what does the catholic church teach about premarital sex?
it teaches that it is wrong as sex should only happen inside a marriage as sex should be procreative and the only acceptable place for children to be brought up is within a marriage.

what do catholics believe about family?
it was created by god as a place of education and security. it is the principle place for education and morals and is where children learn faith and pray.
