- Patient prep: NPO 4-6 hours, xanthine-containing drugs withheld for 36 hours. No caffeine for 24hrs.
- Dose: 0.57 mg/kg infused over 4mins (142ug/kg/min)
- Rp inject 3-5 mins after infusion
what is the side effect of dipyridamole?
chest pain, headache, dizziness, ischemic ST changes, and nausea
what is the half life of dipyridamole?
30-45 mins
what is antidote for dipyridamole?
aminophylline 50-250 mg given 2mins after Rp
Identify the contraindications for dipyridamole
- Bronchospasm or severe obstructive lung disease
- unstable angina
- recent myocardial infarction
- hypotension
- AV block without pacemaker
- Xanthine-containing drugs caffeine in the last 24hrs
- allergy to dipyridamole or adenosine
what is patient prep of Adenosine, dose?
- patient prep: NPO 4-6 hr, Xanthine containing drug withheld for 36 hours, no caffeine 24hr, oral dipyridamole withheld for 24hrs
- Dose: 140 ug/kg/min infused for 6min. Rp injected 3 min after start infusion
what is the side effect of Adenosine?
chest pain, headache, dizziness, ischemic ST changes, and nausea
what is antidote for adenosine?
discontinue

what is contraindication for adenosine?
- severe bronchospastic pulmonary disease
- unstable angina
- recent myocardial infarction within last 2 days
- hypotension
- AV block without pacemaker
- sick sinus syndrome
- 2nd or 3rd degree AV block
- severe congestive heart failure
what is adenosine increase the demand of myocardial?
oxygen
what is patient prep of regadenoson and dose?
Patient prep: NPO 4-6hrs, no methylxanthine for 12hr, no dipyridamole for 2 days
Dose: 0.4mg/5ml in 10-20 second. Rp injected 15-20 sec after
what is the side effect of regadenoson
Headache, flushing, dyspnea, chest, discomfort, chest pain tightness in the chest, and nausea
what is antidote of regadenoson?
caffein
what is contraindication of regadenoson?
- 2nd and 3rd degree AV block of sinus in absence of pacemaker
- bronchoconstriction and COPD, asthma, hypotension with systolic less than 90 mmhg
what is patient prep and dose for dobutamine?
Patient prep: NPO 4 hr, beta blocker medication withheld 48 hrs,
DOse: 5 ug/kg/min for 3 mins then 10,20,30,40 ug/kg/min for 3 min each. Rp given 1 min afet maximum dose initiated
what is the side effect of dobutamine?
headache, flushing, dyspnea, chest pain, cardiac arrhythmia, nausea
what is the antidote for dobutamine?
esmolol (beta blocker)

what is contraindication for dobutamine?
severe hypertension (BP 150/90)
