First Pass Angiography Flashcards
what is first pass study used for?
evaluation of rt and lt ventricle wall and ejection fraction at rest or stress and intracardiac shunt may also quantities
Indication of the First Pass Study?
- determination of rt and lt ventricular EF, ventricular function, and wall motion
- assessment of diastolic and systolic parameters
- detection and quantitative of left to right shunt
what is the Rp and dose for first pass study?
20-25 mCi
Tc99m-pertechnetate
Tc99m-DTPA
Equipment information for first pass?
- LFOV 40cm with electronic magnification to 25cm FOV small field of view 25cm
- collimator: LEHS parallel hole, LEAP parallel hole
- energy window: 20%
patient prep for first pass
- can eat or drink if rest
- NPO 4hr if stress
- baseline ECG
technique for first pass study?
Resting images only
- patient supine or upright
- bolus inject with a 19 or 20-gauge catheter at the basilic vein of the antecubital fossa or the jugular vein
- acquisition starts immediately after injection
- separation of the ventricle from the atrium with RAO-30 to ANT view
- sequential images 25-50 milliseconds per image in 20-30 seconds
