What is pharmacists responsibility for CS
Pharmacists are accountable in making sure CS are prescribed and dispensed appropriately

Must have knowingly filled a fraudulent prescription to violate the law.
What does knowingly mean
Pharmacist recognized the possibility of wrong doing but refused to conduct a proper investigation
What are things to do and not to do when documenting issues when refusing to fill a CS
It is important not to deface the prescription, as that is the property of the patient.
If you determine not to fill a prescription, the prescription should be returned to the patient, unless the prescriber asks you to destroy it

A new prescription must be issued for mitakes that can not be updated
What is the difference in the rules related to correction between C II compounds and C III-V compounds
We can accept verbal orders for these prescriptions, we can convert erroneous written prescriptions into telephone prescriptions

- State specific electronic prescribing requirements may impact the ability to perform this change
Who is entitiled to fill prescriptions
A prescription for CS may only be filled by a pharmacist. “Pharmacist” includes any person authorized to dispense CS under the supervision of a pharmacist
