Describe the pes anserine
A
Attachment point of GST (gracillious, semitendonosis and satorious) on the proximal, medial aspect of the tibia.

What is PAB?
A
Pes anserine bursitis inflammation to the bursa which is in between the pes anserine and MCL

Which group of people would commonly get this?
A
- Young active individuals
- Obese middle-aged women
- 50-80 year olds who have OA of the knees.

What causes PAB?
A
Tight hamstrings - place extra pressure on the bursa, causing friction and irritation.
Direct blows to the area - causing bruising and inflammation

Clinical presentations of PAB:
A
Pain and tenderness over the medial knee:
- when standing from a seated position
- with walking up or down stairs.
Local swelling

How will you confirm that the patient has PAB?
A
- Palpation over bursa will be sore
- Contraction of GST will be painful
- Local swelling
