What did Friedman and Rosenman study?
The behaviour of patients suffering from CHD and proposed that a particular behaviour pattern was associated with increased vulnerability to this stress related illness

Longitudal study where they followed 3154 healthy men for eight and a half years, asked to complete a questionnaire and from their responses each participant was our unit one of two groups, Type A and Type B
What did they find?
More than twice as many Type A people developed CHD, 8 years later 257 developed CHD, by the end of the study 70% of the men who developed CHD were type a personality

Type C personalities were cancer prone, difficulty expressing emotion and suppressing emotions
