What is the social learning theory?
Personality is shaped and changed by watching and copying behaviors around us

What is the interactionist theory?
This theory combines trait and social learning theory

What are the characteristics of a stable personality?
Unchangeable
Constant
Predictable
Linked with introversion
Shy, timid, reserved, self sufficient
What are the characteristics of an unstable personality?
Changeable
Unpredictable
Linked with this are extroversion
Adventurous

What is a type A personality?
Highly competitive
Strong desire to succeed
Works fast
Suffer stress
Impatient
Intolerance
What is a type B personality?
Non competitive
Unambitious
Works more slowly
Less prone to stress
Relaxed
Tolerant
What determines extroversion or introversion?
The reticular activating system
Extroverts have a naturally low RAS level so seek external arousal
Introverts have a naturally high RAS level so do not seek external arousal
