Why should patients trust you?
- loyal, good intentions

Are you good at simplifying ideas?
-break down complex ideas into smaller chunks
- explain each chunk thoroughly and slowly
e.g. explaining UDA system to family- bands, changes to band 2, challenges
- important to simplify complex info to patients e.g. root canal
Explain clearly, in everyday language not complex medical terms
Important patients understand fully what you are saying so you can obtain informed consent
Open yourself up to questions, give time for them to think about the information
How would your friends describe you?
- trustworthy- can confide in me- important for patients to trust dentist to carry out procedures, also confide in dentist and raise their concerns, protect patient confidentiality
- respectful- always respect their choices- respect patient autonomy
- loving- put their best interests first- beneficence, do what’s in best interests of patients, never harm them, care for them
- welcoming- can talk to easily- important to work in team as dentist, be able to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues
- fair- treat people equally- avoid biases as a dentist, treat all patients equally
What are your best qualities?
- caring- always want whats best for others
- loyal- supportive of everybody
- friendly and outgoing- can socialise with new people easily
- determined and hard-working
How do you manage stress?
- talk to friend or family- helps to get weight off shoulders
- do something to forget my stress- e.g. gym, art

- organising bake sales- designating roles, talking in assemblies, choosing the charity

- reflected on what i could’ve done better the 1st time- made 2nd a bit more personal and meaningful
