Koenen’s tumor
small fleshy tumors that grow around and under the toenails or fingernails
characteristic of tuberous sclerosis
single lesion can be due to trauma
tuberous sclerosis- multisystem disorder caused by a gene mutation. formation of hamartomas in brain, skin and kidneys. eyes, heart and lung.
perinugual warts
clusters around the fingernails and toenails
kaposi’s sarcoma
nodules, papules or macule that are red, purple, brown or black. typically found on the skin but can appear around the mouth or GI and res tract. caused by human herpresvirus 8 and seen in AIDS
Keloid scars
overgrowth of fibrous tissue at site of an injury
repeated trauma around the nail
pyogenic granuloma (lobular capillary huemangionma)
benign vascular lesion of the skin and mcuosa
solitary, red lesion that bleeds spontaneously or following a minor trauma
