Water/drying artifact has several appearances:
- Moth-eaten look to RBCs
- Heavily demarcated central pallor
- Refractile blotches on the RBCs
- Sometimes manifests as echinocytes

Macroscopically:
Should be pink to purple

Orange to salmon pink

WBC nuclei
