Performance and engine handling Flashcards
Supercharger
A Compressor that sends air to the intake manifold, allowing sea level pressurized air in higher altitudes
At low idle RPM for long periods, there is a risk of
Spark plugs fouling.
Taxiing over rough ground can
Damage the propellor, by hitting long grass and other stuff on the ground. High throttle may compress the nose wheel, the propeller will be lower
Run-ups on stony surfaces can lead to
Stones entering the propeller flying by the strong airflow and vortices
If oil pressure is shown 0 and oil temp. is normal that means
Probably the oil pressure gauge is faulty. If there’s a decrease in oil, the oil temp would rise
Turbocharger
Works like supercharger but with a turbine that is using the exhaust to spin
