Performance Flashcards
what is the ASDA?
Accelerate-Stop Distance Available. TORA plus stopway distance.
what is TODA?
Take Off Distance Available. TORA plus any Clearway.
What is TORA?
Take Off Run Available. The distance from the point whare an aircraft is able to begin it’s take-off run until the surface is no longer capable of bearing the weight of the aircraft under normal conditions.
What is a balanced field?
A runway where the TODA and ASDA are the same distance.
What is a damp runway?
A runway which is wet but not to the point of being reflective
What is a contaminated runway?
A runway which is covered in over 3mm of water over more than 25% of the runway.
What is the width of a clearway?
at least 500 ft
What is the slope of a clearway?
no more than a 1.25% gradient.
For a Class A Aircraft, by what margin must Vr exceed Vmu and Vmca?
Vmu by 10%, Vmca by 5%
For a Class A Aircraft, what must V2min not be less than?
1.13 Vsr, or 1.1Vmca
What two speeds must V1 fall between?
Vmcg and Vmbe
What is the minimum climb gradient for a class B aircraft with one engine inoperative?
0.75% at an altitude of 1500 ft (gear & flaps in)
What is the minimum climb gradient for a class B aircraft with all engines operative?
2.5% (gear down and flaps at landing)
What is the minimum landing climb gradient for a class A aircraft?
3.2%
What is the minimum discontinued approach gradient for a class A aircraft?
2.1% with one engine inoperative
