Pathophysiology of h.pylori assocated ulcers
A
Hypersecretion of gastric acid related to microbe
=imparied secretion of somatostatin so more gastrin release
=acidic environment

Results from an imbalance between damaging factors:
- gastric juices
- H. pylori
- NSAIDs
and defense mechanisms:
- mucous layer
- integrity of cell junctions
