H2 antagonist
For: Gastroesophageal reflux disease, stress related mucosal bleeding, peptic ulcer
Con: drug interaction, inhibit 450 and reduce oxidative drug metabolism e.g. Theophylline
Omeprazole
Anti-acid
Parton pump inhibitor
Inhibit gastric H K ATPase
For: stress related mucosal bleeding, GERD
SE: may increase GI infection
Eradication
Omeprazole,
Amoxicillin ( bacterial wall) Clarithromycin (inhibit acid secretion)
Misoprostol
Prostaglandin E1 analogue
EP agonist, stimulate mucus and bicarbonate secretion and enhance mucosal blood flow
Inhibit cAMP, reduce gastric acid secretion
For: NSAID induced ulcer
SE: diarrhoea, cramping abdominal pain, stimulate uterine contraction
Pirenzepine
Limited use
