Active Population
Aged betwwen 15-60, the population that are actively contributing to the government’s funds through tax on their wages; as opposed to the dependent population
Ageing Population
A population, found in MEDCs, who are increasingly made up of elderly people, thus putting strain on healthcare systems and housing
Character of a city
The features and idnetity that make a city unique.
Counter-urbanisation
Movement of people (predominantly in MEDCs) away from urban areas to live in smaller towns and villlages
Demographic Transition Model (DTM)
Diagram which shows the relationship between birth and death reates and how changes in these affect the total population

More economically developed country
Birth Rate
The number of babies born per 1000 people per year.
Death rate
The number of deaths per 1,000 people per year

The disparity between those well off and those not
