  • Largest muscle in the bottom
  • Originates from posterior sacrum, sacrotuberous ligament, iliac crest
  • Inserts onto iliotibial tract and gluteal tuberosity of femur
  • Hip extension/hip external rotation/hip abduction/stabalising pelvis

A
  • Side of the hip
  • Originates from outer surface of ilium between anterior and posterior gluteal lines
  • Inserts into greater trochanter of femur
  • Hip abduction/Stabalisation/Internal and external rotation of the hip
