- Stabilises ankle joint and prevents inversion of the foot (excessive)

- Lateral malleolus to posterior aspect of talus
- Aligns ankle during movement and prevents movement of talus bone (excessive)

Deltoid ligaments
A
- Medial side of ankle
- Consists of 4 ligaments: Tibionavicular, Tibiocalcaneal, Anterior Tibiotalar, Posterior tibiotalar ligaments
- Provide stability and prevent excessive inversion and eversion
